Sonic the Hedgehog is a 2D side-scrolling adventure. Your mission is to locate the first stones, release your pals, and destroy Robotnik's devices.
Collect rings as you make your way through loop-de-loops. There are six unique playable areas to you explore. Get a running start and a jumping assault on your foes. You can get through the dead ends if you build up enough speed. You can access secret areas by transforming into a blue ball and racing through walls.
You will receive a point boost for every machine that you successfully destroy. It would be to your advantage to also gather gold rings in your collection. If you manage to gather 100 of them, you will be granted an additional life at that point. Be very careful not to run into the spikes because doing so will cause you to lose a significant number of these rings.
