Four In A Row

Four in a Row is a simple game, but winning requires strategy. Before your opponent, connect four of your colour checkers in a row horizontally, vertically...

Take turns sliding chips into the columns until four are in a row. Click on a column on the board or drag your chip into a column to drop it. To win the match, connect four pieces horizontally, vertically, or diagonally. You can play against the computer, a friend, or online opponents.

Take up winning positions. Look around the board on your turn to see if there are any groups of three discs in any direction. Drop one of your pieces down to block off the fourth slot if possible. If you can't quickly block the space, or if the winning space is on the second row, don't place your piece below it.

Take command of the centre. By definition, any horizontal or diagonal string of four pieces must include a piece from the middle column. As a result, the player who controls the centre column has many more options for connecting four pieces.
